Amma

“A true devotee or disciple will have great humility and, because of this, will also possess a certain spiritual beauty. The beauty of spirituality lies in humility.”

“Devotion in principle means recognizing that it is the one and the same God who manifests in all living beings and in all the deities, in all names and forms. It means surrendering selflessly to Him. That is the kind of devotion we should have."

"Knowledge helps you to imbibe devotion with the proper understanding of its principles. You have to have wisdom if you want to taste devotion fully. But knowledge without devotion is bitter; it has no sweetness. Those who say, ‘I am everything,’ rarely have any compassion. Devotion contains compassion.”

Hi Kuan,
Faith calls for unquestioning trust and surrender...?
But can it ever really exist without question? Especially when we are asked to trust another human form or what is said by another human(I mean, will we know there is 'God' if we were not told so?) ? Is it possible to show 'devotion' unless
1. we are willing to accept all the consquences - which one may choose to categorize as good and bad.
2. we choose to accpet that there is no good or bad.
then again if nothing is good or bad, then why devote?

Happy New Year!

sojourner...you chose a path and posed the questions...there's many ways to answer them...I just embrace the moment, meditation and the unlimited possibilities...it's all relative to our core beliefs and interpreations as a result, we've all set our sails in our journeys and chosen what winds to carry us...warmest greetings!

Yes kuan, I agree on "our chosen paths". I sense that we describe the same thing but in different words and lights.
I have been learning to look beyond those pointers we call words and 'sense' the meanings... Here, I can confidently say, that my question was understood and your answer understood too, even if not when i asked it and you answered, but atleast now and here (this reply):)

And thanks for the comment on the blog. It has been a part of my education on the blogs - creating images with words. An Inspired and learned form of expression for me. And i have you to thank you for it, because you and the works you follow were and are a part of the study.

I definitively know when this kind of expression started.

Thank you so much for reading the older posts and for being a teacher (because i chose to learn a few things). Thank you.

sojourner...you have a truly incredible blog that combines images with beautiful verse brimming with wisdom. I'm sorry, I'm certainly not a teacher at all just an observer of all of the wonder around us. Thank you for your blog and your visits...

I believe a teacher is not only who is volunteering, but who has been chosen to learn from... living or non living. so what ever is observed is a teacher?
Hence u are a teacher. in a way we are all teachers and students. But yes, my perception :)
the visits and writing are both a pleasure.
thanks!
